Our Curriculum

Small World International Preschool/Nursery welcomes children ages 12 months to 5 years. Our curriculum is tailored to each age group and child, based on his/her skill set and needs. During the day students are rotated through varied activities and areas to ensure 1-1 interaction with teachers and aides during structured classroom time. By integrating fundamental subjects and building his/her skill set, each student graduates ready to start their kindergarten education at any school in the world.

Education Fundamentals

Science

Practical and hands-on approach for greatest understanding of science in everyday life

Math

Through different basic methods, begin understanding mathematic concepts (graphing, greater than, less than, numbers, quantitive numbers, patterns, addition, subtraction, fractions)

Language

Using imagery, story telling, concepts (rhyming, opposites, positions) for comprehension and increased vocabulary. Integrate alphabet and phonics to begin writing and reading

Music

Singing (memorization), movement songs – following directions, dancing (freely or performance), and using Instruments

 

Integral Skills Set

Behavioral

Respect and care for oneself, others and their surroundings, taking turns and sharing, being part of a group, graciously winning and losing, importance of integrity and quality of work

Cognitive

Understanding of concepts and problem solving through various activities, such as sorting, completing puzzles, building, stringing and weaving

Fine Motor

Basic abilities such as painting, cutting, coloring and developing essential classroom aptitude of pencil grip, progression, tracing copying, to eventual independent writing

Gross Motor

Observe and assess individual agility skills for specific ages and help child progress accordingly
